ADMISSIONS PROCESS

IT IS OUR MISSION TO PROVIDE FAMILIES WITH AN AUTHENTIC MONTESSORI EDUCATION. WE KEEP THIS MISSION FOREMOST IN MIND WHEN PLACING CHILDREN INTO OUR CLASSROOM COMMUNITIES.

“Our family loves than BRMS puts great consideration into the individual needs of the students. We have noticed that when a decision has to be made, it is always done with thoughtfulness, common sense and is what is best for the child.”

TOUR

Before beginning the admissions process, we invite all families to schedule a tour of our school. The tour lasts approximately 20 minutes and includes an overview of the program for your child’s age group, a walk through our campus, and a brief meeting with a team member to answer any questions you may have. If our available tour times don’t align with your schedule, please reach out to us at office@blueridgemontessorischool.org, and we’d be happy to arrange a more convenient time.

APPLY

After you have toured our school, we welcome you to apply for your child(ren) to be considered for admission. We are always accepting applications. Once you have completed the application, please return with the fee via email, mail or drop off. To pay your application fee online click here.

Once your application received and reviewed by a member of our Admin Team, you will be notified and updated regarding your place in the admissions process. Applicants will then be placed in the waiting pool or receive an email or phone call of acceptance.

WAITING POOL

Since we often receive more applications than openings available, some accepted candidates will be placed in our waiting pool. When, and if, an opening occurs, we review all candidates in the waiting pool. Preference is also given to siblings of current students. We strive for communities that reflect balance and diversity of socioeconomic level, race, ethnicity, strengths and age.

Children are placed according to the needs of the individual classroom communities. We strive for communities that reflect balance and diversity of socioeconomic level, race, ethnicity, strengths and age. Criteria for placement is based upon space availability, the child’s age and readiness for the program as well as the parent’s commitment to the Montessori philosophy and school culture.
