A Year of Remarkable Growth.

It is hard to believe that it has been almost a full year since we closed our physical doors and went virtual. The past twelve months, we have chosen to stand in the unknown, and because of that we have experienced remarkable growth in ways we never imagined.

When we refer to “we”, we of course mean you included. We did all of this together, as a board, as an administration, as teachers, as families, as a nonprofit organization, as a collective community.

Physically, we have grown from just one building, to three. We have expanded not only to fit the needs of our current staff and students, but also to fulfill a need in our community. Our area is truly a desert when it comes to quality education and the care of infants and toddlers. With this expansion, we have doubled our capacity for this age group! We have also put into place the necessary steps to double our Primary environments and ensure that every classroom has what they need for a high quality, authentic Montessori environment. We will now be able to offer approximately one hundred spaces in our 3-6 age group.

For elementary and adolescents, we have been able to provide the space and opportunities they need to flourish into the incredible humans they are. They have a high quality music program that offers the chance to play various instruments, an olympic-style fencing club, and an art program with an incredible instructor that allows them to express themselves freely and beautifully.

We have been able to increase benefits for our staff, including raising their salaries to a more livable wage, providing access to medical care. We have added additional staff with unique abilities and skills, and offered a significant increase in training opportunities. We are continuously in the pursuit of being more aware, more educated and more supportive of our community.

All of this would not have been possible without your support and your generous contributions to our school.

We hope that you will continue to be a part of our community, whether that means you are moving on, or continuing education here at our school, your family will always be part of our Blue Ridge Montessori School community and a part of our continued success and outreach to the Greater Lynchburg community.
